Wedding Invitations

Hello friends! I have a cute story to share about my son and then I'll write about my creation today.

Last night we had Chinese for dinner. He grabbed the fortune cookie right away and I told him he could eat it after dinner. As I'm cleaning up the table after dinner, he breaks open the cookie. I ask him, "what does your fortune say?", thinking he either won't reply or ask what a fortune is (he's only 3). He responds, "it says I should eat this cookie!" How he came up with that is beyond me! He has such a personality. Too cute!

I am currently working on wedding invitations for a customer. This was the first draft. I used Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla for the base color and Ruby Red for the accent color. The embossing was created using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. It's a little hard to see in the photo, but I aged the embossed cardstock with Creamy Caramel and stamped the heart in that color too. The heart is from the Sale-a-bration catalog, Polka Dot Punches, expiring the end of this month. The "You're Invited" is from the Sincere Salutations collection. She indicated her dress has quite a bit of lace, so I thought the lace ribbon would be the perfect touch.

I'll be back later with a baby card! It appears to be wedding and baby time - not for me though! :)

Have a wonderful day!

Who Needs Stamps - Emboss It!

Ok, so I did use a stamp on this but it's just one little word. The majority of this creation was created using the Stampin' Up! Sizzix Simple Flower Embosslit and a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The layout was inspired by last weeks Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge (SC217). The color mix was from another challenge. I had to use Cameo Coral, Tempting Turquoise, and Chocolate Chip. Cameo Coral is probably one of my least favorite Stampin' Up! colors so it was a stretch for me to use this.

The photo to the right is a little darker because I wanted to capture how I chalked the edges in Chocolate Chip around the Cameo Coral. Hopefully you can see it in this picture. Chalking is difficult to photograph because it's so subtle.

So TGIF in a big way! The weather is going to be warm this weekend. I need hit Kohls for a few things this weekend. I am working with a bride-to-be on custom wedding invitations. I'm always busy with something! It's all good!

Be sure to stop back soon or subscribe to my blog in the upper left hand corner to automatically get e-mailed when I post. I was having difficulty with Feedblitz, but it seems to be fixed now. Please let me know if you subscribe and are not receiving updates. Thank you very much!!!

Enjoy your day and happy stamping!

Hugs & Kisses

I am having a blast with the SU! Love You Much Bundle - can you tell? Now that the holidays are over, just have some fun with your card making. The pressure is off! Make Valentines for not only the love in your life, but everyone including your friends & family. Why not! It will make their day!

This card is pretty self explanatory. I paper pierced around the Pretty in Pink (SU!) cardstock center piece and along the red edges I embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. It matches the patterned paper if you look closely. There is a "pinking" edge design in the paper just like my embossed part! It doesn't take much to excite me. Hee hee!

I hope your week is going well! My little one came down with something yesterday. He is better today though - thank goodness! It was nice to snuggle and hold him last night when he wasn't feeling well. Gotta love it!

Take care!

Scallop Punch Turkey

I wanted to make a handful of Thanksgiving cards to mail to my out of town family and a few other people like my mother and babysitter who I am so thankful for! My mother is always there for me and my sitter takes the best of care of my most precious gift in life - my son! I cannot thank them enough for all they do!

In a recent Stampin' Up! demonstrator magazine, they provided us with directions to make this adorable turkey. Check out the instructions below. It's so easy!

I embossed the front of this card using my Big Shot and chalked the stems in green. I used a large circle Nestabilities to cut out a window in the front and a green circle to layer the turkey on inside.

So how are your dinner plans coming along? I am in good shape! My turkey is safely thawing in the frig. My husband is extending the table today and bringing up the chairs from the basement. I am taking my son to get his hair cut after work and tomorrow night I get mine trimmed. We're getting there!!!

Have a great day and I hope you have some time to make some of these turkeys! Thanks for stopping by!

I'm Dreaming of a Pink and White Christmas

Good morning all!

It’s a little early to talk Christmas, but I have just been in the mood to start my Christmas cards early. It’s never too early because there never seems to be enough time to get them all done.

I created this card watching the season premier of Greys Anatomy last night. Did you watch it? It was very good, but was on way too late. I have to get up very early so I’m dragging today. My sitter had a bad cold yesterday and today my little one has it. No fun!

When I bought this set called “Snow Swirled” from Stampin’ Up! (pg 32, #111690), the delicate look of it made me think “pink”! I alternate the theme of my Christmas tree every year between Victorian and multi-color. I may do the Victorian tree this year which also inspired my card creation last night.

The first thing I did was emboss a Whisper White card with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. Then I stamped and embossed the tree from the Snow Swirled set onto Pretty in Pink cardstock. I layered the embossed tree on Whisper White and then Pretty in Pink behind that. I stamped “Season’s Greetings”, also included in the Snow Swirled set, in Whisper White Craft Ink on the pink cardstock and cut out with my Nestabilities the oval shape. I layered that piece on a slightly larger embossed oval in Whisper White to raise up the saying a little. To finish it off, some shiny pink ribbon!

TGIF – the weekend is almost here. Thank you for stopping by and I appreciate all your comments. Please drop me a line anytime! Have a wonderful day!

Going to the Chapel!

Are you singing along to the title of this blog posting? Last night I had to make a quick wedding card for today. I think this turned out pretty elegant just going with mostly white and a little black. All I did was emboss with a Cuttlebug embossing folder the front of the card. I used my large oval Nestabilities to cut and emboss a piece of white cardstock I stamped my sentiment on. The sentiment comes from the Stampin' Up! set Sincere Salutations (item#105156). I use this set all the time because it has a sentiment for every occasion and I just love the script. I also decorated the envelope for this card. I embossed another piece of white cardstock using the same embossing folder and used the oval Nestabilities to cut out a frame. I had from Quote Stacks (DCWV) this vellum "Newlyweds" piece and put the frame over that. I hope they like it!

I've gotta go get my groceries and then get ready for the wedding. Have a wonderful Saturday and I'll be back to posting Halloween and Fall cards next! Thanks for stopping by!

I'm Batty for You! Halloween Card

So who are you Batty for this Halloween? I'm Batty over this awesome Stampin' Up! set "Batty for You" on page 28 of your new catalog. I actually bought it last year when it was in the mini catalog and used it a little last year. I couldn't wait to pull it out this year and combine it with one of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders called "Boo to You". It's a perfect match, isn't it?

This Halloween card was actually so simple to make. After I embossed on SU! Elegant Eggplant cardstock with the Cuttlebug folder, I layered it on a black card and paper pierced completely around the edge with the help of Stampin' Up! Mat Pack. I added black/white grosgrain ribbon to the center and used my Stampin' Up! Scallop Circle and 1 3/8" circle punches to stamp on. I also paper pierced on each scallop and used a white uni-ball Signo Gel Pen to outline the piercing. Cute and easy - that's how we like it!

More fall and Halloween themed cards to come! Stay tuned!

My Favorite Season Has Arrived!

Hello Friends!

Fall has arrived and I love it! I got to pull out and wear my jean jacket today. It was pretty cool and rainy today. I could pass on the rain, but I love those crisp autumn days!

I took my son to get some new shoes this morning and then to a Leaf Festival. We didn't stay long because of the rain, but we got to pet a bunch of animals and listen to a band. My son loves music and he was just mesmerized by the band there.

When we got home it was nap time! I'm sure it's clear to you what I did during that time - stamp! Actually I did a little stamping, embossing, and punching on this card. Have you checked out the new season of Cuttlebug embossing folders? OMG - they are awesome! This one is called Pumpkin Harvest. Isn't it pretty?! The bottom half of the card is just the cutest paper I've had forever in my stash . I used some black & white grosgrain ribbon for the center and stamped on and layered chipboard leaves from American Crafts. I used Fiskars Threading Water punch (or you could use Stampin' Up! Scallop Edge punch) for a black decorative edge on the one side.

I hope your weekend is a great one and thank you for taking the time to stop by!

A Stamp Free Card!

Happy Saturday Friends!

I love to stamp, but sometimes the card just doesn't need them. I was going to cut out a little window on this and add a saying, but I thought it looked good without adding anything additional. What do you think?

The Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip cardstock I embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The leafy ribbon is from Maya Road, if my memory serves me correctly. The big pink flower is from Prima, and the yellow one from Bazzill. The cute little brad in the center is from Making Memories. Add any sentiment on the inside and you are good to go!

This card was inspired by Stamps-Paper-Scissors.com weekly challenge. The picture below, taken from http://www.bhg.com/, was to inspire us to create something out of the design, color, etc. It was tough, so I did the best I could.

It's hard to believe Labor Day Weekend is just around the corner. I have lots of goodies coming your way this fall, so stay tuned and subscribe to my blog if you haven't already. If you subscribe, you will get an automatic e-mail every time I update my blog. Fall is my favorite season of the year and I have so many supplies for the season it's not even funny. You can never have too much though, right?

Take care and God bless!

Back to Scrapbooking!

Ahhh, I've missed scrapbooking my favorite subject - Brandon! The Weekly Challenge over at Stamps, Paper, Scissors was this layout. Instead of doing my usual cards, I decided to do an 8x8 layout. This black & white photo is of my son when he was one month old. It seems like this picture was taken 10 years ago instead of two. Time flies!

Supplies used for layout:
Patterned paper - Hot Off The Press
Transparency - Daisy D's
Stars - Making Memories, Stickles glitter glue
Cardstock - Stampin' Up! Whisper White embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
Punch - Stampin' Up! Scallop Edge, circle

Tomorrow I am going to a HUGE craft show in Ohio. It's one of my favorites. The crafts are really unique and the talent is amazing.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Great Impressions - Stamp of the Month

It's Monday and we're back to the daily grind! I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

I had so much fun making this card! The stamps are from Great Impressions and they are their stamps of the month. Since the cat is swimming with the fishes, I took some Stampin' Up! Brilliant Blue cardstock and ran it through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder that looks like bubbles. I used two different sizes of scallop ovals to make a cutout on the front of the card and cutouts for the stamped images on the inside. I colored in everything with Stampin' Up! markers and Copic markers and attached a little ribbon to finish it off.

I am working on putting my blog candy together! I haven't forgotten. Stay tuned.

Thank you for stopping by!

Design Team Challenge - White Space

The weekend is finally here! I took my son to one of his favorite places this morning -the zoo! It was a beautiful morning for it and he had a good time.

I mentioned to you earlier this week that I am on a design team! The name of the website is Stamps-Paper-Scissors. The store has been online for 3 months now. The main seller is greeting cards with matching envelopes. She also sells other handmades such as altered tins, clippy boards, plates, etc.

I participated in my first weekly challenge at Stamps-Paper-Scissors, which was to incorporate white space in our card or project, and make it compliment our layout.

I took Stampin' Up! Whisper White cardstock and made a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card. I embossed the front of the card with a floral Cuttlebug embossing folder. I used Stampin' Up! Pretty in Pink cardstock to make a 1/2 x 4.25 inch strip and 2" square for my centerpiece. I stamped in SU! Pretty in Pink ink, "Flowers say Hello from the Heart" (stamp by Hero Arts) on Whisper White cardstock. I punched it out with a Marvy scallop square punch and attached it to my pink square. I attached Wilton Lace Scrapbook Trim on either side of the square to finish it off. Pretty simple!

I hope your weekend is going nice and slow so you get the most out of it! I hit over 5,000 on my counter so blog candy will be on the way - hopefully tomorrow or Monday. Check back soon!
