Holiday Greetings Card

My new recruit, Amy Papale, had her first Stampin' Up! Open House last week. It was a great success! She had approximately 19 guests attend the party.

This Holiday Greetings Christmas card was one of her make-n-takes we came up with for the party. Amy has a great eye for color combinations and swears by her Stampin' Up! Color Coach . I love the soft Bashful Blue against the Crumb Cake color card stock. Way to go Amy!

Have a great week and happy stamping!

Sketch Challenge from Pals Paper Arts

I'm a bit of a rebel today! I took the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge, using all Stampin' Up! products, and turned it on it's side. I wasn't trying to be a rebel. I was actually just having a hard time with the sketch at it's given position. Since I'm one of the "pals" I think they won't be too hard on me. :)

My PPA2 Sketch Challenge card recipe:

*The card base is Pretty in Pink.

* The next layer is a 5.25x4 piece of Garden Green card stock decoratively edged with the Scalloped Edge Punch, and dotted scallops with a white pen.

*
Tea Party Designer Series Paper tops off the Garden Green card stock with a scalloped border as well.

* A 2.75x3.75 Garden Green card stock will anchor the sentiment piece.

* The sentiment, from
Sincere Salutations, was inked in Garden Green card stock and stamped on Whisper White (2.5x3.5).

* A coordinating design of Tea Party DSP (2.25x2) was attached above the sentiment.

* Using the
Scallop Circle Punch and several circle punches, I created a little floral embellishment.

* The center of the scallop circle is a flower & leaf from the
Season of Friendship stamp set inked in Garden Green and Pretty in Pink. The center of the flower is a Pretty in Pink brad.

* Last but not least, a little satin pink ribbon from my stash tied off this creation with a little bow.

I hope you play along with the challenge! It's always fun to see what others create from a sketch.

Enjoy your day and thank you for stopping by!

Wedding Invitations

Hello friends! I have a cute story to share about my son and then I'll write about my creation today.

Last night we had Chinese for dinner. He grabbed the fortune cookie right away and I told him he could eat it after dinner. As I'm cleaning up the table after dinner, he breaks open the cookie. I ask him, "what does your fortune say?", thinking he either won't reply or ask what a fortune is (he's only 3). He responds, "it says I should eat this cookie!" How he came up with that is beyond me! He has such a personality. Too cute!

I am currently working on wedding invitations for a customer. This was the first draft. I used Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla for the base color and Ruby Red for the accent color. The embossing was created using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. It's a little hard to see in the photo, but I aged the embossed cardstock with Creamy Caramel and stamped the heart in that color too. The heart is from the Sale-a-bration catalog, Polka Dot Punches, expiring the end of this month. The "You're Invited" is from the Sincere Salutations collection. She indicated her dress has quite a bit of lace, so I thought the lace ribbon would be the perfect touch.

I'll be back later with a baby card! It appears to be wedding and baby time - not for me though! :)

Have a wonderful day!

Christmas Party Invitation

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Mine was very nice. Everyone complimented my meal on how delicious it was, but doesn't it always taste better when someone else makes it? Why is that? Oh well.

Were you out Black Friday shopping today? I usually work the day after Thanksgiving, but decided not to this year. It's nice to have a long weekend and a break. I hope to get my house all decorated for Christmas this weekend because I am having a holiday party next Saturday.

Pictured above is the invitation I made for my party. My husband & I host a Bible study once a month and every year I host a Christmas party for them and cook up a big meal all myself. It's my Christmas gift to them.

The card was created by using Bashful Blue Stampin' Up! cardstock. I had some gorgeous silver mirror-like paper that I layered on next. Then I took some Melissa Frances patterned paper and ran it through my Big Shot using the Top Note Bigz Die (SU!). The tree (SU! Snow Swirled - on sale through Tiffany's Cardtique this month-see sidebar) was stamped and embossed in silver. I also embossed "You're Invited" (SU! Sincere Salutations) in silver as well. My invitees were very impressed with this invitation. I love that!!!!

Don't forget about the big Stampin' Up! sale going on right now - Holiday Extravaganza! There are some really cheap prices on products. Take advantage of the sale. It ends December 1st. Supplies are limited so don't wait too long. You can e-mail me your order tiffanymiller1@verizon.net or order online directly through my SU! website.

Enjoy your Black Friday!

Going to the Chapel!

Are you singing along to the title of this blog posting? Last night I had to make a quick wedding card for today. I think this turned out pretty elegant just going with mostly white and a little black. All I did was emboss with a Cuttlebug embossing folder the front of the card. I used my large oval Nestabilities to cut and emboss a piece of white cardstock I stamped my sentiment on. The sentiment comes from the Stampin' Up! set Sincere Salutations (item#105156). I use this set all the time because it has a sentiment for every occasion and I just love the script. I also decorated the envelope for this card. I embossed another piece of white cardstock using the same embossing folder and used the oval Nestabilities to cut out a frame. I had from Quote Stacks (DCWV) this vellum "Newlyweds" piece and put the frame over that. I hope they like it!

I've gotta go get my groceries and then get ready for the wedding. Have a wonderful Saturday and I'll be back to posting Halloween and Fall cards next! Thanks for stopping by!
