Painted Blooms Birthday Card

Happy New Year!  Sorry I haven't posted since November. December is a crazy busy month for me between all the birthdays in my family and Christmas. I'm back though! Hopefully you missed me. LOL!

One of my New Years resolutions was to be more aware of birthdays outside my immediate family and friends. I work with many people and have regular contact with some on a daily basis. I feel bad sometimes when I don't give them a card and just send an e-mail. I guess I'm looking to give a more personal touch to others this year. Hopefully that makes sense.

Sooooo . . . in order to keep this resolution, I need a stockpile of cards. Right? Right! I made a bunch of the birthday card pictured above. Simple design, easy to duplicate, and pretty. The patterned paper is Painted Blooms from Stampin Up. It truly looks like a watercolor painting. Each design in the pack is as gorgeous as the next.

If you've made any New Year's resolutions, I'd love to hear what they are . . . especially if it's craft-related. Please leave a comment or send me an e-mail. I may share some of those ideas in another post!

Sweetest Birthday

This past weekend my son & I were invited to a 3 year old birthday party for a friend of ours. Lucky me . . . I got to shop for little girl presents! With only having a son, this was a treat for me. I also had the opportunity to make a fun, girly card. I didn't have a lot of time, so Doodlebug Design products were the way to go!  Fun paper and stickers to match . . .  what's not to love?

I stumbled across the perfect saying for the inside of the card from the Stampin Up set Crazy for Cupcakes, and a simple "happy birthday" from And Many More set.

I hope you are having the sweetest day ever!

Happy stamping!

Like a Bird in a Cage

So who is smart enough to sprain their wrist on Memorial Day - the official start of summer? ME! I feel like this bird in a cage. Thankfully it's my left wrist (I am right-handed) and it's only a sprain. I never realized though how much your left hand supports what your right hand is doing. It's getting better, but not fast enough.

It hasn't stopped me from stamping! You can stamp with one hand. Hee hee! My little bird and cage is from the Stampin' Up! set Aviary. This set is so neat because you can mix & match the birds and cages. Very fun! Check it out on page 121 in the current Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.

Enjoy your week and happy stamping!

Aviary

Want a really fun stamp set to get creative with? Try Stampin Up Aviary (Item #116956, pg 121 in the current SU! IB&C). There are so many possibilities with this set and it's really cute.

I'm really looking forward to enjoying the weekend with some warmer weather, family time, and stamping of course. We'll see what I come up with this weekend.

Have a good one and happy stamping!

Watercolor Trio

Watercolor Trio is by far my most favorite set from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog. It's all inclusive - images with three different sentiments.

Curious as to how I stamped with various colors? I used the Stampin' Up! Many Marvelous Markers brush tip to add color directly onto the stamp where I wanted it. It's very easy and gives amazing results.

Have you received your copy of the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog? If not, e-mail me HERE for more details and a special Tiffany's Cardtique catalog price (while supplies last)!

Enjoy this beautiful summer weekend and happy stamping!

Sweet Celebration

Mmm! Doesn't this look "sweet"?

Simple and fun birthday cards can be created using Stampin' Up! Sweet Scoops. I added a scoop of strawberry ice cream on top the cone with a pop dot to make it look a little more realistic. I love that you can create just about any flavor of ice cream with this set. It's so much fun and it's a big hit with the kids!

Sweep Scoops is available in the current Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog. To get your FREE copy, e-mail me HERE.

Mint Chocolate Chip Anyone?

Mmmm. Although we had a little snow on Mother's Day (crazy Erie weather), summer is coming!

How about a scoop of mint chocolate chip? It's one of my favorites. You can scoop up this adorable set of stamps from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog. The set is called Sweet Scoops. It comes in wood mounted or clear. There are two different scoops to choose from and two different cone styles as well. It's a perfect set for those summer birthdays or to create cards for kids!

Masculine Birthday

If you are a regular follower of my blog, you know I struggle with masculine cards. My brother-in-law had a birthday this week so I stretched really hard and came up with this card. I used some older paper & supplies so there will not be a product list at the end of the post. I'm trying to use up my older stuff to make room for new!

I will share with you the products I used on the inside of the card because those were current Stampin' Up! stamps. I used Whimsical Words (from the Sale-A-Bration catalog) and Teeny Tiny Wishes. The Sale-A-Bration ends March 31st so don't wait too long to place your order.

Enjoy your weekend and happy stamping!

Eye Candy

I'm back! Sorry for the break in posts, but life gets in the way sometimes. Being a working mom can be really busy sometimes! Can you relate?

In case you haven't seen or heard all the excitement over the Stampin' Up! Sweet Treat Cups in the holiday mini, I thought I would share this birthday card with you so you could see why they are so popular! They are so much fun to fill. You can really get creative with them.

I made my Sweet Treat Cup into a hot air balloon using the Sweet Centers stamp set. You'll see this set again in a couple months. There is a really cute heart in the set for Valentines Day.

Have a great day and happy stamping!!!

2 + 2 = ?

2 birthdays + 2 graduation parties (in one week) = lots of card making!

My mother and good friend at work both share the same birthday. The cards pictured above are what I made for them this past week.

Not only was I busy, but my little guy was busy crafting too! He took almost an entire hour to paint his grandma a birdhouse for her birthday. You can see from the picture how intently he was working. Too cute. He is 3 1/2 years old now.

We hit some garage sales this morning and bought some great new toys! We're off to play at Grandma's today.

Have a wonderful weekend! Thank you for visiting!

Celebrate Today!

I mentioned in my last post my husband & I went to see Joel Osteen last weekend in Ohio. His message included thanking God for everything good and right in your life. When you wake up, be happy you can see, walk, have clothes to wear, a job to go to. It's such a simple thing to do, yet I know I am guilty of taking things for granted. I am going to try harder to "celebrate today" each and every day.
My creation goes along with my new theme in life! I hope you like it. It's also fitting for a birthday card too! The "Celebrate" comes from the Stampin' Up! retired set Wonderful Words. It's very similar to Heard from the Heart or Warm Words, another favorite of mine. You could also use Celebrate Everything and really personalize what you are celebrating!

The big scallop circle in the background is the Scallop Circle Die (item #113468) from Stampin' Up! This die is not only great for scallop circle die cuts, but you can also make scallop circle cards from it. If you don't have a die cutting machine and would like scallop circle cards, Stampin' Up! sells Carousel Notes which include 12 cards with envelopes!

I created my own center for the Prima flowers using Stampin' Up! Jumbo Brads and adding a little flower rub-on. Don't be shy about using your rub-ons. They go on practically anything! Gotta love em!

Leave me a comment and let me know what you are going to celebrate today! It could be that your kids are healthy, the UPS man came today with your Stampin' Up! order, or you ate candy for breakfast! The candy for breakfast would do it for my little one!

Have a great day and thank you so much for visiting my blog!

Happy Bee Day!

I just love these Stampendous bee's. They are so darling. I colored them up and added a little sparkle with Diamond Stickles. My hardware is a Stampin' Up! Flower Designer Brad. The "happy birthday" around the brad is from SU! Think Happy Thoughts set. I tell you, I couldn't live without my SU! Mat Pack. I used to paper pierce freehand and it was always uneven and just sloppy. This cute little handy pack is a lifesaver if you like to paper pierce. For under $10, it's a cool tool!

There are lots of birthdays in March, so I always need to have some bee-day cards on hand.

My weekend was a little busier and stressful than I would have liked it to be, but oh well. That's old news now, right? Right! This weekend I am planning a shopping trip with my BFF to the outlets. Hopefully nothing will get in the way. I need some "me" time.

Bee good and have a buzzing day! I'm silly, I know! :)

Another Year Older, Another Year Wiser?

Is that how the saying goes? We only get better with age, correct? That is what I keep telling myself at least. I feel I'm getting smarter. Could it be? I do have days though where I feel like I'm losing my mind! Since having a child, I need to make lists and write things down. It angers me I have to do this because I never had to before! Is it because we are so busy and have 10 things going on at once, or do those babies really suck the brains out of you? I can't control it, so I guess I just have to deal with it.

I have a birthday coming up next month. I don't get overly excited about them. I truly enjoy being the gift giver but not the receiver. Even as a kid, I loved handing out cookies and goodie bags on my birthday to my friends.

So since I am tired of making Valentines at this point, it was a breath of fresh air to take out some different stamps from my stash! This one, Crazy for Cupcakes, will never go out of style!

I hope my cupcake photographed ok. I used Liquid Applique to make it look like it was really frosted. This was my first attempt with it, so if you have any tips or advice, let me know! The rest of the supplies I used are listed at the bottom of this post.

My son is still checking his Valentines Day mailbox daily. He is so cute. This morning he told me there will be something in there when he gets home tonight. Oh boy! Luckily I had a little bag of Jelly Belly's to stick in there. Whew!

Enjoy your day! God bless.

Happy Birthday To You - With a Cherry on Top!

The holidays have passed, but my tree is still up. Is anyone else in the same boat as me? I hope to tear everything down tomorrow. It's not as exciting as putting it up. Oh well. It's gotta be done!

I decided to take a break from the Valentines Day cards. I needed to make a card for a friend at work who has a birthday on Monday and Stampin' Up! Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set was calling my name! It's just perfect for birthday cards.

I thought the cute little cherries on top of the cupcakes matched the SU! Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper perfectly! It's a little hard to see in the picture, but I used white Fun Flock for the icing on my cupcakes. Just a little something different to add texture.

We are just weeks away from the release of the Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2009 catalog! I've seen some previews, and it's going to be great! If you would like me to reserve a copy of the catalog for you, just drop me an e-mail at tiffanymiller1@verizon.net.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thank you for stopping by!

So Glad We're Friends

It's the weekend, and don't we all just love the weekend? I sure do! The only problem is I try to do way too much and the time just flies. I wish it went that fast when I am at work. Oh well.

I have a couple friends with fall birthdays so I made some fall-like birthday cards today. I just love the look and texture of this line of paper from Daisy Bucket called Sweet Marabella. It's double sided and almost has the texture of wallpaper, but thinner. It's very cool. I decided to pair it up with Stampin' Up! cardstock in Kraft for my card base, Whisper White, and Garden Green. The antique looking brads are by Making Memories, chipboard flower by Maya Road, and orange flower by Bazzill. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! called Best Yet. It is a hostess stamp set that you get free with $150.00 purchase or more. It is a wonderful set with 6 sentiments including a Christmas one. I've only owned it for a few months now and can't begin to tell you how much I use it!

I have a really simple but elegant Christmas card to show you in my next posting using one of the Sizzix dies in the SU! Holiday Mini. Stay tuned!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!
