KISS Challenge

Are you wondering what a KISS challenge is? KISS stands for Keep It Simple, Sweetie! It's the new challenge over at the Pals Paper Arts blog! I like simple!

My KISS creation today is for Christmas. To keep it simple, I used only two Stampin' Up colors - Whisper White and Real Red. I created an embossed background using the new Stampin' Up! Petals-A-Plenty Impressions Folder which can be found on page 21 in the new holiday mini catalog. This folder deeply embosses the perfect background setting for any of your holiday creations.

The stamp is from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Best collection which is a hostess level 1 set. I love this set of stamps because it includes beautiful greetings for Valentines Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas.

Are you starting your holiday card making yet? It's never too early to get a head start. Have fun with it and enjoy the new products SU! is offering for the holidays. The Delightful Decorations stamp set and Ornament punch have been a HUGE seller. You'll see me create more with this set in the coming weeks. I did post one card with this set which you can view HERE.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting my blog!

Organize with Ribbon Keepers

I'm back! Sorry for the delay between blog posts. My husband & I spent the weekend in Toronto and saw the Broadway Play Jersey Boys. It was awesome!!! We also stopped at Niagara Falls and took the helicopter ride over the Falls. That was neat! It was my first helicopter ride. Between getting ready for the trip and getting back late yesterday, I had no brain power to create so I worked on organizing my craft room.

I recently invested in the Stampin' Up! Ribbon Keepers. I was very skeptical when I first saw these years ago. I thought they would be cheap and flimsy. I was so wrong! I love them and bought one of every size. Isn't this one cute with all the Stampin' Up! 1-1/4 Striped Grosgrain Ribbon collection? Way too cute if you ask me!
I will post pictures of my craft room once it's all in order. It was recently painted and I'm re-arranging everything. It's coming along, but not ready yet. Stay tuned!!!

I'll be back with a card creation. Be sure to stop back soon!

Grateful for Fall

Fall has arrived! I don't know if it's official yet, but after Labor Day weekend I call it fall. I'm a little anxious because it's my favorite season! I had a wonderful long weekend with family. We went to an amusement park, had a picnic, built a campfire, went to an outdoor concert, and saw fireworks. I think I was a little too busy because I came down with a horrible cold the other day! I went to the doctor today and got a prescription, so hopefully I'll be better by the weekend.

Among all my travels this past weekend, I was amazed at how many trees have leaves that are already changing colors! It inspired me to use the Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper, Autumn Traditions. What perfect paper for fall themed cards or scrapbook pages. I stamped the leaves at the top of the card using the Falling Leaves stamp set, and then cut them out Paper Snips which are great for cutting into the tiniest of areas. Paper Snips are a must have!

The recipe for this creation can be found at the bottom of the post. You'll notice I used some ribbon from my Ribbon Originals share! This set, Orchard, coordinates with the Autumn Traditions paper. That's what I love about SU! They make it easy to create with everything that coordinates!

Please leave me a comment and let me know if you are a fall season lover or not? If you have a favorite fall themed stamp set, I'd love to know that too! I love Falling Leaves and Season of Friendship.

If you need further directions on how to create the card pictured today, please drop me an e-mail HERE and I'll be glad to help you.

Enjoy and have a wonderful day!

PPA Featured Artist

Guess who is the Pals Paper Arts feautured artist today? ME!!! It's so much fun to play at PPA! The color challenge (PPA6) was tough! The colors are Stampin' Up! Brocade Blue, Crushed Curry, and Ruby Red. Interesting, isn't it? I hope they liked what I came up with.

If you look closely you'll notice two areas of interest:

1) Very little stamping! I only used one tiny stamp from the Stampin' Up! Always set to fill in my Boho Blossoms.

2) Faux stitching! I didn't feel like pulling out my sewing machine so I used the uni-ball Signo Gel Pen to draw in my stitches.

Stampin' Up! Supply List
Stamps: Always (#113620)
Ink: Crushed Curry
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Crushed Curry,
Brocade Blue, Ruby Red
Designer Series Paper: Bella Bleu (#113974)
Accessories: Sherbert Buttons (#116312),
Very Vanilla 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: uni-ball Signo Gel Pen (#105021),
Boho Blossoms Punch (#110711), Ticket Corner Punch (#107214),
5-Petal Flower Punch (#109041)

If you would like additional details on how this card was put together, please leave me a comment or send me an e-mail. I would be more than happy to share!

One more day until the long weekend! We are having house guests so I hope to sneak in some stamping time if I can.

Have a wonderful day and stop back soon!

Hello Baby

When I was putting my basket of cards together this past week for the charity event, I found that my stash fell short of baby cards. Great excuse to make some! Since my little one was born, I haven't really bought any baby stamp sets. Although they are nice to have on hand, you can simply use any stamp set you have for a baby card and make it look soft and baby-like by the colors, embellishments, and design.
I used Stampin' Up! Circle Circus for today's creation. From the looks of this stamp set, it doesn't say "baby" to me at all. I stamped it in Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue and whola . . . baby! I also didn't add a lot of color and added some pearls to make it soft looking. The majority of the card is Whisper White. I think that helped with the look of it too.

Here is the recipe (all supplies from Stampin Up):
Stamps: Circle Circus (#115778)
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, White Craft Ink
Card Stock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Pretties Kit (#109114), Whisper White Organza Ribbon (#114319)
Tools: Scallop Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch

Speaking of babies, my little guy & I go meet the preschool teacher this morning! Time sure does fly. He is not a baby any more! He starts preschool officially next week. Boo hoo! I hope I can keep it together on his first day. I may have a tougher time than he does. Hee hee!

Enjoy your day and happy stamping!
