A Non-Traditional Christmas

Who says you need to use red & green for your Christmas cards? Not me! How do you like this combination? I used Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and Bashful Blue. I CASED this layout from a card I saw in a recent Stampin' Up! Success magazine (demonstrators only magazine). I loved the colors and design! The recipe will be listed at the end of the post.

This color combination would be great for an autumn card too. Speaking of autumn, it's a beautiful fall day here! I'm having a Stampin' Up! Open House this week so I've been busy preparing for that today. It's going to be so much fun!!!

My little guy started pre-school last week. Here is a picture of him ready to go on the first day. He's loving it! It's so neat to see him learning new things everyday. What a blessing!

Have a wonderful weekend!!! Thank you for visiting my blog today!

Hello Baby

When I was putting my basket of cards together this past week for the charity event, I found that my stash fell short of baby cards. Great excuse to make some! Since my little one was born, I haven't really bought any baby stamp sets. Although they are nice to have on hand, you can simply use any stamp set you have for a baby card and make it look soft and baby-like by the colors, embellishments, and design.
I used Stampin' Up! Circle Circus for today's creation. From the looks of this stamp set, it doesn't say "baby" to me at all. I stamped it in Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue and whola . . . baby! I also didn't add a lot of color and added some pearls to make it soft looking. The majority of the card is Whisper White. I think that helped with the look of it too.

Here is the recipe (all supplies from Stampin Up):
Stamps: Circle Circus (#115778)
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, White Craft Ink
Card Stock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Pretties Kit (#109114), Whisper White Organza Ribbon (#114319)
Tools: Scallop Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch

Speaking of babies, my little guy & I go meet the preschool teacher this morning! Time sure does fly. He is not a baby any more! He starts preschool officially next week. Boo hoo! I hope I can keep it together on his first day. I may have a tougher time than he does. Hee hee!

Enjoy your day and happy stamping!

The Circus Is In Town!

Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, the Stampin' Up! Circle Circus is about to begin!

This is one circus you don't want to miss. What a cool set of stamps! You will see me creating a lot of different things with this set. The wheels have been turning.

I used another new "in color" today, Bermuda Bay. I stamped the image randomly in black and added just a touch of color to the flower centers on the stamped image. To make the Bermuda Bay really stand out, I paired it up with black.

The final touch was wrapping Bermuda Bay Polka-Dot Ribbon around the card and tying it off through a black Jumbo Grommet.

Pretty simple and fun to make!
