Fun in the Sun!

I'm back! What a rough week. I am back to feeling 100% and started creating last night. I felt so bad to neglect my blog this week! Thank you hanging in there with me.

It was almost 90 degrees here in Erie, PA mid-morning. Crazy hot and humid! I am not having fun in the sun today, but my card is!

The patterned paper on this card is by Reminisce. I tore the edges of the bottom two layers for a look like the water on the shore. I used my Stampin Up! Scallop punch, which is my favorite punch to date, to add some sunshine to the card. I wrote in white ink (uni-ball Signo pen), "Have Fun!", because that is what summer is all about, right? I added paper piercing to the scallops and along the top of the card. The big flower in the center is from My Minds Eye and I attached it with a pop dot. I added sheer floral ribbon along the center of the card. It's hard to see in the picture because it's so subtle.

Speaking of fun, I am close to hitting 5,000 on my counter! I think it will be time for some blog candy once I hit that number. Keep checking back so you don't miss out on the chance to win.

Tomorrow I am going to A-Muse-A-Palooza at a stamp store near Pittsburgh. Should be fun!!!

I'll share all my goodies with you Monday. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a comment or e-mail letting me know what kind of blog candy you like to receive?

Oldie but a goodie!

Ok, ever have one of those weeks where there is way too much to do and no time? I'm having one of those and to make matters worse, I have been super tired this week. I'm just not feeling 100%. Hopefully it will pass soon.

I love this retired set from Stampin' Up! called Sun-Ripened. It's only a set of three stamps, but it's all fruit and it looks so realistic. It's an oldie but a goodie! This card is pretty simple so I don't think any further explanation is needed. The patterend paper is Anna Griffin. It goes perfectly with kraft colored cardstock.

Thank you for checking in! I hope your week is going well.

Take care.

Spring Card for a Christmas Card!

Hello friends!

I am so past due for a blog posting! How do you like this, Christmas in July with a Spring Card! I get a little nutty over anything with really cool folds, or origami as they call it. I saw this on Splitcoaststampers a couple weeks ago and had to try it. I challenge myself every year to start my Christmas cards in July, but it has yet to happen. This year, I have a head start.

If you click on Spring Card, it will take you to the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. It's easy. Don't be intimated at all!

Supplies I used: Patterned paper by Basic Grey - Figgy Pudding, Li'l Davis Designs "Christmas" stamp set, SU! Hodgepodge Hardware in Antique Brass, Vintage Snowflake button by Buttons Galore & More, and twill musical notes ribbon.

Once I completed my folds, I cut a 3.25 x 3.25 square of paper to stamp on for the center. I stamped "Joy" in SU! Basic Black ink and then crumbled it up and unfolded it to make it rugged looking. I inked the edges with SU! Basic Black ink. I attached my hardware, did a little paper piercing near "Joy", and glued this entire piece to the card. I glued my photo corners down on the base of the card and did a little paper piercing there too and attached a brad in the center. I love things that are different! I'll have to show you my Christmas card from last year. It was a hit!

Thanks for stopping by & TGIF!

What do Harley-Davidson & Changito's Have In Common?

Card making supplies! I was at A C Moore craft store on Saturday and all the patterned paper was 40% off. It looked like they had some new papers in stock, so I took a peek. This Diamond Plate Embossed Harley-Davidson patterned paper by EK Success caught my eye. I thought of this Changito stamp immediately! How fun is that?! I would have never picked up this paper otherwise. I'm a girly girl through & through.

I embellished the card with two different sizes of silver square brads from Joann's. I colored in the stamped image with SU! Creamy Caramel on the Changito & SU! Basic Gray on the tire. The cardstock is Whisper White from Stampin' Up!

I hope your week is going well. Brandon is with my husband today. I called to check in this morning and they were on their way to a house my husband is fixing up to sell. Brandon is sure to get a McDonalds Happy Meal out of him today because my husband cannot cook whatsoever. He will be a happy boy!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Hodgepodge Hardware Sale!

Happy Monday friends!

My family is back home and I'm back to work! Argh!!!! If I could stamp for a living, that would be awesome. Oh well.

Since we all work hard for our money, I just wanted to highlight the awesome sale on Stampin' Up! Hodgepodge Hardware. I have all the details on my sidebar. It's a really good value that I am taking full advantage of.

I made this card the other day using the Antique Brass Kit. I just love it! The patterned paper is from Crate Paper. I used Stampin Up rub-ons for the flowers and message on the green paper. The embossing around the flower is one of the Cuttlebug embossing folders. I inked the edges and folded in the corners for something different. That piece is layered on pop dots.

My sitter is on vacation this week, so my Mom is watching Brandon all day today. I called my Mom to check in on him this morning. She kindly said that his favorite thing to say today is "I don't want to". Hmmm. He is 2 1/2. What can I say?! Hee hee :) Hopefully the two will survive the day! Tomorrow his Daddy gets him all day. That could be much more interesting :)

Thanks for checking out my blog today! Have a good one.

* Stayed tuned for a super cute Changito card this week! Wait until you see the patterned paper for this one. It's nothing I would ever buy if I didn't have the perfect stamp to go with it.

Happy July 4th Weekend!

Hello everyone!

I wanted to blog sooner, but with my family in town, the time just slipped away. Although I'm sure you're busy on this holiday weekend, I thought I would drop you "a little note". Like my card? It's so easy to make!

The card size is 5x5. I used Stampin' Up! Cutie Pie patterned paper. I cut four squares, each measuring 2.25 x 2.25 inches. The big square in the middle is 2.75 x 2.75. I used the jumbo scallop punch from Marvy for my center, and drew a little "u" shape in each scallop with a white pen. I used a jumbo circular Marvy punch & decorated it using a clear stamp set from Michael's $1 bin. The center of the flower is a blue rhinestone.

The one thing I love about Stampin' Up! patterned paper is it's double sided and thick. It's like getting two for one and it really comes in handy when you want to use multiple prints that match! They make it easy, what can I say?

Enjoy your nice long holiday weekend and thanks for taking time to stop by!

The Story Begins . . .

Ok, I know this is the second baby card posting in a week, but I needed to make these and I thought this one turned out so cute, I had to share it. The cute little baby stamped on this card is from the retired Stampin' Up! set called Baby Firsts. I bought it when I was pregnant with Brandon and used it for my shower and thank you notes. I set up this card like a mini file folder for something different. The cute little tab at the top is the Stampin' Up! Round Tab punch. I use this a lot!!!! It's so cute to add to cards, notebooks, recipe cards, etc. The possibilities are endless.

I hope your week is going great! I have family in from out of town all week, so forgive me for my short posts. Something is better than nothing, right?

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. BIG NEWS - All of Stampin' Up! new stamps in the upcoming catalog will be die cut! All you need to do is pop, peel, and place before you begin stamping.
