Stampin' Up! Scallop Punch Wreath

I can't believe Christmas is only 11 days away! Are you ready? I am in pretty good shape. My son's birthday was last week and he turned 3. I was busy getting ready for that and finishing up my Christmas shopping.

The Christmas card I am sharing with you today will give you another use for that SU! Scallop Circle punch. I made a wreath out of it by first punching out a 1 inch circle out of Garden Green cardstock. Then I centered the Scallop Circle punch over the open circle on the green cardstock and punched out the wreath! The berries were made using the Double Circle punch. I made them sparkle with a few little dabs of red Stickles.

I had one of those moments today that put things back in perspective. In the middle of the church service today I had to take my son out in the hall. He was getting unsettled. While we were out in the hallway, we ran into a foster mom who just picked up a foster child from the Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. He is 3 years old and both hands were covered in bandages. He was crying a very helpless cry. He wanted to be held one minute and put down the next. He was so unsettled. The foster mom told me his hands were burned with boiling water. He also freaks out around doors because he thinks someone is coming after him. I didn't know this little boy at all, but my heart just aches for him. I found out this was his 2nd or 3rd foster home now and remember he is only 3 years old! Please keep him in your prayers. He has a lot of healing that needs to take place.

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

A Whole Lot of Ribbon!

Hello friends!

I'm sorry it's been awhile. Time just flies and before you know it, it's the weekend again!

This cute little card was fun to make and I got to use up some of my ribbon! It is a flap card and the row of ribbon is hiding where you open it up. All I did was punch a row of little circles along the edge of the flap and put the ribbon through each hole & tied it off. The little girl is from the new set of stamps from Stampin' Up! called Window Dressing. It's a hostess set you can earn by placing an order yourself or with a bunch of friends to meet the minimum requirement for this set. It's not hard to do, trust me!

I hope you had a fantastic week and stayed tuned . . more this weekend!!!

Thank you for stopping by!

Scallop Punch Mania!

Hello friends!

I told you I had some fun with my punches this week! This card utilizes the scallop circle punch from Stampin' Up! I used it 3 times on this one. Can you find all three? Yep, that's right - behind the "thank you" sticker and two scoops on the ice cream cone! All I did was carefully nip off the scallops on half of the punch out and whola! You have a yummy scoop of ice cream! Cute? I put a deep red cherry on top with Stickles on it to make it sparkle. What fun!

You are probably wondering about the cone? Is it pre-made embossed paper? Nope! I just cut out a triangular shape from tan cardstock and scored lines to make it look like a cone.

* Idea *
- You could use the Stampin' Up! Slit punch on the inside to make a slit for a gift card to the local ice cream shop! What a great summer "thank you" gift this could be!!!!

Let me know what your favorite scoops of ice cream are? My favorites are birthday cake and strawberry cheesecake.

Next posting will have a really different idea for using the Stampin Up! Round Tab punch.

Thank you for stopping by and let me know about your favorite flavor of ice cream!!!

Keep cool!

P.S. My son is trying to figure out how to use the pedals here in his bare feet! Too cute. I had to share it!!! :)

Fun in the Sun!

I'm back! What a rough week. I am back to feeling 100% and started creating last night. I felt so bad to neglect my blog this week! Thank you hanging in there with me.

It was almost 90 degrees here in Erie, PA mid-morning. Crazy hot and humid! I am not having fun in the sun today, but my card is!

The patterned paper on this card is by Reminisce. I tore the edges of the bottom two layers for a look like the water on the shore. I used my Stampin Up! Scallop punch, which is my favorite punch to date, to add some sunshine to the card. I wrote in white ink (uni-ball Signo pen), "Have Fun!", because that is what summer is all about, right? I added paper piercing to the scallops and along the top of the card. The big flower in the center is from My Minds Eye and I attached it with a pop dot. I added sheer floral ribbon along the center of the card. It's hard to see in the picture because it's so subtle.

Speaking of fun, I am close to hitting 5,000 on my counter! I think it will be time for some blog candy once I hit that number. Keep checking back so you don't miss out on the chance to win.

Tomorrow I am going to A-Muse-A-Palooza at a stamp store near Pittsburgh. Should be fun!!!

I'll share all my goodies with you Monday. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a comment or e-mail letting me know what kind of blog candy you like to receive?
