St. Patrick's Day

Just dropping by to wish you a Happy St. Patricks's Day!  I'm not a bit Irish, but who needs to be to celebrate. 😊

Have a great day and happy stamping!

** All supplies for the card pictured above are from Stampin' Up. The shamrock stamp is from the Leaf Lines set which is now retired (may still find it on ebay). Sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Thinking Outside the Box

I thought outside the Stampin' Up! box on this card. I combined three stamp sets: Always, Leaf Lines, and Watercolor Trio. Isn't it amazing how nicely they all flow together & look like it came from one set?

Take a look at all your stamp sets and see which ones you can combine. I think looking at them with this different viewpoint will open the door to some new & exciting projects!

When I complete my cards, I often show them to my husband who could really care less. He is very sweet & supportive but let's face it, most guys don't go crazy over paper crafts. He typically says, "that's nice honey". With this card though, he actually made a comment about the shading around the edges of the patterned paper. He liked that technique. Maybe he's coming around! (smile) Who would have guessed that sponging a little ink around the edges of patterned paper would float his boat so to speak?!

Enjoy your day (TGIF) & happy stamping!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm not a bit Irish, but who says you have to be Irish to celebrate? I'm having a little dinner party tonight and serving up some reubens. The card and favor pictured above will be at each place setting.

Aren't the little milk carton's adorable? I filled it with Hershey Milk Chocolate Spring Flowers. As soon as I saw the Mini Milk Carton Bigz Die in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini, it was the first thing on my list. You can assemble the milk carton to have a spout open up to pour out your contents. My project is completely enclosed since my contents fill the width of the container. I've also seen these cartons made into super cute bird houses! I'm going to give that a whirl soon.

Enjoy your St. Patrick's Day and happy stamping!

Combining Stamp Sets

Sometimes we tend to take out our favorite stamp set and only use that particular set to create a card. Stampin' Up! makes it easy for us to do just that. For example, the set Christ is Born provides you with images as well as verses and sentiments all in one package. It makes it very easy and fun to create, but let's take it to a different level!

Today, I am challenging you to take out two or three of your favorite stamp sets and mix and match like I did with this Christmas card. Can you guess how many stamp sets I used? If you guessed three, you are correct! I used Stampin' Up! sets Christ is Born, Four the Holidays, and Leaf Lines. It's always fun to mix things up a bit!

Let me know if you try this out. I'd love to see your creation! Feel free to e-mail me a picture. I may send you a little thank you gift if you do! (hint hint)

Coming up . . . I'll share with you the Thanksgiving cards I'm mailing out to family next week.

Leaf Lines

I can tell you that no matter how many times I look through the Stampin' Up! catalog, I always find something new! One of my customers recently ordered the stamp set Leaf Lines. I swear I've never set my eyes on it or heard of it. I looked it up in the catalog, just out of curiosity, and there it was on page 111. Somehow this bypassed my wish list and I have no idea how? I love leaves! When I see a leaf set, it's usually a must have. Too funny! Needless to say, I bought it. It's one of those year-round sets. There is a leaf for every season.

The card pictured above is all colored in with chalk. The leaves, edges of the card stock, and the embossed leaves were all lightly dusted over with Stampin' Pastels (chalk). I love the soft finish chalk leaves behind. Stampin' Pastels provides you with all 48 Stampin' Up! colors as well as black, gray, and white. This set will last you a long time! I've had mine for years and it appears barely used. It's a great value for just under $25.00. Check it out HERE.

Can you believe we still haven't made it to the pumpkin farm yet? The weather hasn't been good and my husband & son have been fighting colds. Hopefully this weekend we will go. I don't think I ever bought a pumpkin this late. Maybe they'll be on sale! Hee hee.

Enjoy your day and happy stamping!
