Happy Valentine's Day!

Wow! We are having a crazy blizzard of snow this Valentine's Day. Nice day to kick back, do some baking, and crafting!

I made all my Valentine's this year and made each one different. I just love using dies and have become addicted to them. My collection is getting out of hand! I've started organizing them and I will share that in a post when I'm done.

So this Valentine requires no stamping!  How about it?!  Dies can do all the work for you when you don't feel like getting your fingers inky.

Patterned Paper: the Paper Studio B&W Doodle Hearts
My Favorite Things Dies: Heart Full of Love, Lots of Love

Cool Dudes

Greeting friends!  I hope you are keeping warm during this winter season.

My boys took their first weekend ski trip a few weeks ago. I packed them up with plenty of snacks  . . . or should I say junk food . . . and made them some cards to open at night before bed.  This was one of the cards I sent along with them. I just adore that little snowman!

I used one of the new stamp sets from Paper Smooches called Cool Dudes. It's just darling and perfect for winter themed cards. I had so much fun putting together this little happy looking winter card.

Too add some little special touches to the card, I used some glittery sticker dots by docrafts to add some falling snow to the background. I stamped the little snowflakes using the same ink color as the paper. I also added Crystal Effects from Stampin Up to shine up the heart.

Game On

Happy New Year!  Can you believe it's already a week into January???

We had a great Christmas and as for New Year's . . . let's just say I kept my tradition of falling asleep just before the ball drops. It seems no matter how hard I try, I just can't make it.

December is always exceptionally busy. Not only do I have the holidays to prepare for, but it's Brandon's birthday too!  He turned 9 this year. The card pictured above will give you an idea as to what 9 year old boys are into . . . video games! Thankfully, he has a good balance between that and the sports he participates in.

He was very surprised by the card I made him. He told me this was the best card I ever made! I believe I got tears in my eyes. When a handmade card touches someone like that, it's the best feeling.

Don't Forget the Bus Drivers!

Hello Friends!

I tend to spend way too much time making really "fancy" Christmas cards . . . according to my 9 year old son. He is my biggest fan and I just love that, but he's right. After making almost 50 cards this year, I started getting a little more simple this week as I finish the last few. I took some really pretty scrapbook paper and punched a 2.5 inch circle near the top and placed in the center a glittery snowflake chipboard piece I've been hoarding. It took minutes to whip these together and you know what . . . they are a little "fancy" looking I think. I was please with the little time it took to still make a pretty card. I won't be posting the products used for these cards pictured above because they are from last year and retired . . . but you get the idea at least and maybe can use up some supplies you have on hand with this layout.

I had planned to blog way more than I have this holiday season, but the time just flew. New Year's resolution . . . more blog posts!  Look forward to that!

Lastly, don't forget to send a card with your child to give to the bus driver this holiday season. Our bus driver is amazing!  As a child, I had to wait outside in the cold & rain because if you weren't out there, they would drive by. Our bus driver allows Brandon to wait inside the house and if they don't see him coming when they pull up, they will honk the horn. Lucky Brandon! They also have to deal with all the kids personalities and nasty weather. I have an appreciation for what they do. I enclose a little gift card with the card as well.

Enjoy this last weekend before Christmas!

A Woodsy Christmas

Hello Friends!

Are you ready for Christmas?  I am getting close. The tree is up, decorations are out, and a few cookies are made. I almost have all my Christmas cards made too. I stamped a bunch of the ones pictured above. It was a easy card to mass produce. I think it looks a little woodsy with the tree and wood star embellishment on the top. The stamp set, Be Joyful, is from one of my favorite online stores . . . Simon Says Stamp. I belong to their card kit of the month. Worth every penny!  Check out the details HERE. I have never been disappointed and look forward to receiving the box of goodies every month.

Merry Christmas Card Supplies:
Stamp Set: Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful
Stampin Up InkChocolate Chip, Old Olive
Stampin Up Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Embellishments: Studio Calico Stars

Stay tuned. . . I'll be posting more Christmas cards soon!
