Thoughts and Prayers - Stampin' Up! New Set

Happy Friday!

I have received several e-mails about my mailboxes. I’m glad my idea was a hit! I have filled them twice this week. The first time they received homemade chocolate chip cookies with a handmade heart-shaped tag. The second time I gave my husband a Double Peanut Butter Reeses Peanut Butter Heart (he loves peanut butter) and my son received a little M&M guy filled with mini M&M’s. They are loving it, especially my little one. He would like something in there everyday. Too cute!

I received in the mail this week the much anticipated new Stampin’ Up! set called Thoughts & Prayers. I absolutely adore this set. The stamps and sayings are just beautiful. I used this set last night as I was watching Grey’s Anatomy. I also incorporated into my creation SU! Good Morning Sunshine Designers Series paper. This paper is also new to SU! and the designs on these papers are really unique. I decided to mat my patterned papers on black cardstock to make the colors really pop. They are so vibrant.

After I finished this card last night, I played a little with my new SU! Embosslits Dies I purchased along with my stamps. I never used these before. I made my first Cherry Blossom and was giddy like a little girl. It embosses and punches out the shape. The impression is so defined, just like the Cuttlebug embossing folders. I will post this weekend the card I am making with this die.

Any plans for the weekend? I hope to finish a scrapbook layout of my son’s first trip to the dentist. I will post it if I get it done, but don’t hold your breath! Saturday is going to be close to 50 degrees so I may take my son sledding. There is so much snow on the ground it will take days to melt.

Have fun & I’ll be back soon! Thank you for stopping by.

Valentine Mailboxes

Happy February! We made it through January!

February is the month of love and I made my two Valentines their own mailboxes. My hubby & son will get little treats and notes from me throughout the month in their mailboxes. When the flag is up, they need to check it. They were very excited to be presented with these this morning!

The cute little silver mailboxes are $1 find from Target. I covered them in some gorgeous patterned paper from BoBunny. All is takes is a 4x12 piece to cover it all the way around.

I used Maya Road chipboard letters for their initials on the front and also covered them in the BoBunny paper. I made a little flag cover with the paper and used my SU! hearts punch, from the Love You Much Bundle, to punch out a small heart and stamp a message on it. I tied ribbons on the flag post, although I'm sure they boys don't care about ribbons. I think it adds a nice touch! :)

*Don't forget the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration starts today! For every $50 you spend you get to pick out something free from the Sale-A-Bration brochure!

Have fun watching the Super Bowl tonight! Go Steelers!!!!

Elegant Thank You

TGIF! I was up late last night working in my craft room and on the computer. I was trying to catch up with e-mails and Stampin' Up! business. The Sale-A-Bration starts Sunday & people are getting ready to take full advantage of the sale, including me!

My creation today is a bright one! The patterned paper is from SU! Designer Series Paper called Raspberry Tart. It's new in the catalog and the picture does not do the colors justice. It's so pretty! I combined it with felt flowers, silver brads, and the Elegant Thank You stamp from SU! In the new catalog, SU! has started selling single stamps on page 208. This one caught my eye because it's simple and elegant.

Any plans for the weekend? Football maybe? We were invited to a Super Bowl party. I'm not a big fan of football so whoever wins is fine by me. My husband is a Steelers fan, so he is very excited!

Have a wonderful Friday!!!

Nestabilities Storage Idea

Hello friends! Have you noticed all the sales this month on storage items? I love finding neat little containers or bins to store my craft supplies. Recently, I sold all my chunky Marvy punches on ebay. They take up way too much space & I fell in love with Nestabilities. Nestabilities are cheaper, take up less space, multi-purpose (cut, emboss, stencil), and have a bigger variety of sizes. What's not to love? They are compatible with most die cutting machines - Sizzix, Cuttlebug, QuicKutz, etc. Click here for a compatibity chart and here for an overview on Nestabilities from the manufacturer, Spellbinders.

I have been building up a collection of Nestabilities without paying full price! Want to know my source? Cut at Home! When you visit their website, sign up to be a Cut at Home VIP. They will send you a coupon every month for 40% off one item. I've been using mine on the Nestabilities. It's a great way to start collecting them.
Once you get them, how do you store them? Simple! I bought at Wal-Mart a pack of 10 CD cases for under $5. At my local craft store, I purchased a magnetic sheet. I cut out a little less than 5x5 inch piece, put it in the CD case under the tabs, and then added the Nestabilities. Works like a charm!

It is so easy to keep them all together and handy. I keep mine in a basket next to my Big Shot, but they could easily be stored in a drawer too.

Let me know if you have any questions about Nestabilities. I'd love to help you out!

I hope the rest of your week is a great one! Thank you for stopping by!

Sale-A-Brate the Beauty

The weekend is here again. Time sure does fly by! My little one has been sleeping in lately (knock on wood). Let's hope he is out of that little 6am phase. Oh please! :)

Today's creation I am sharing with you is a card for one of my online friends who creates such beautiful work. It's always nice to send cards out of the blue for out of the ordinary type occasions. Any excuse to create a card, right?

The beautiful, delicate looking patterned paper is a sneak peek from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration promotion effective 2/1/09. It's called Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper. Check out the details on my sidebar on how you can get this paper and several different stamp sets free during this promotion! I also used a Martha Stewart border punch for the center trim, SU! 5-Petal Flower punch, SU! 3/4 circle punch, and Colorbok adhesive metal words (from Michaels $1 bin).

I hope your weekend is fantastic! God bless.

Love You Much

My life has changed! One of the things I enjoy most about the morning is getting up before everyone else (6am) and having my coffee. It's peaceful, quiet, and it's all about me! Not anymore! Since last Thursday or Friday, my son has decided to wake up before anyone else and come wake me up! How in the world does a 3 yr old know to wake up 5:45-6am just before I'm out of bed?

He also told me this morning he wants a brother! We won't even go there. No way, no how, no! I love him to death, but one is plenty!

Speaking of love, there is only about 1 1/2 weeks left to order the Love You Much Bundle from Stampin' Up! I used the stamps and punches from that Bundle, and my favorite die - SU! Top Note Die, to create this V-Day card. I distressed the card edges with SU! Chocolate Chip ink and inked up the stamps in SU! Real Red. I think it's a neat shape for a card!

So have you looked at the new products Stampin' Up! is offering from the Spring-Summer catalog? I'll be sharing my favorites with you in the weeks to come!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!
