Happy World Card Making Day!

Hello and welcome to a special World Card Making Day at Tiffany's Cardtique!

I am so thankful for all the friends and great customers I have met through card making & Stampin' Up!, that I really want to take this day to say thank you! I blog and sell Stampin' Up! for a hobby and LOVE every minute of it. I am so grateful!

In case you have no clue about how World Card Making Day came into existence, like I did, here is an awesome website about it http://www.worldcardmakingday.com/ and an excerpt from the site:

World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine in an effort to bring card makers together at the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, Paper Crafts recognized the need to expand, and the holiday transformed into World Card Making Day.Now in its second year, World Card Making Day has been expanded to include a dedicated web site; a wider, more inclusive level of sponsorship; and a marketing campaign designed to get the word out at the grassroots level. These steps were taken in hopes of uniting the card-making community (hobbyists, retailers, manufacturers, and more) and celebrating the connection and creativity that is at the heart of card making.

So what does Tiffany's Cardtique have in store for you today? Well, I am going to have some blog candy later, the release of my Christmas Card Kit, and my debut at 3pm on Splitcoaststampers hosting the Inspiration Challenge. Sound good? I sure hope so!

Thank you for stopping by and I'll be back soon with blog candy!!!!

The Season of Friendship Lasts Forever Stampin' Up Holiday Mini Catalog

Happy October!

My card today was inspired by the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog that you can order from today through January 18th! This is one of the best mini catalogs I've seen and I want it all. My favorite set out of the mini is the one I used on this card - Season of Friendship. It has 6 stamps total including a bare tree, leaves, flower, snowflake, bird, and the beautiful saying shown on my card. It's a set to use year-round. How can you pass it up? Since I couldn't, it is my sale of the month set which means if you order this one, you get it -20% off the retail price of $23.95.

I used only 4 colors of Stampin' Up! ink to create this card. I used Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red, More Mustard, & Always Artichoke. The card base is in Always Artichoke. I stamped the tree on Whisper White cardstock and then colored each leaf on the stamp a different color using the brush end of the Stampin' Up! marker. I matted the tree on More Mustard and then Ruby Red cardstock.

The ribbon is a velvet, burnt orangish color from American Crafts.

I used a 1 inch and 3/4 inch circle punch to add the little bird. I paper pierced around the Ruby Red circle and added the entire piece to the card on a pop dot.

The sentiment was stamped in Close to Cocoa and then cut into a rectangluar shape. I used my Stampin' Up! Ticket Corner punch on this piece to give it a little interest. I also paper pierced under the saying. This piece was also matted to Ruby Red and More Mustard cardstock.

In case you missed it, I made a little gift set using this stamp set a few weeks ago. Click here to view that posting.

Enjoy looking at the Holiday Mini Catalog and remember you can order directly from me 24/7 on my Stampin' Up! website or drop me an e-mail & I'll be happy to do the work for you! Take care and thank you for stopping by!

A Sign of the Season

Hello friends!

Saturday I attended a wonderful and inspiring Women's Retreat at my church. The theme was inner beauty. I met some really nice women and even found a new scrapbooking buddy! God is good!

As I was driving home from the retreat, I couldn't believe the site of some of the leaves on the trees already! They are turning really fast here and it's so beautiful. It's a sure sign of the change in season! I tried to capture the beauty of the season with this card.

I took a plain piece of Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla cardstock and made a 6.5 x 5 inch card. I cut off 2 inches of the cover and adhered the Fall Trees patterned paper by PSX to the remaining 3 inches. I have a gorgeous multi-colored ink pad from Adirondack called "Woodlands". It's perfect for trees and leaves to get that variegated look. I stamped 3 different leaf stamps on the inside of the card on the part you will see from the front. The leaf stamps are from Rubber Stampede and Inkadinkado.

The autumn saying is a Hero Arts stamp I stamped on another piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using the same ink pad as the leaves. I added a couple copper brads from Making Memories and attached it to the card on pop dots. I inked all the edges with the Woodlands ink pad.

Don't forget, World Card Making Day is this Saturday. Be sure to stop by for some fun things I have to share!

I'm Dreaming of a Pink and White Christmas

Good morning all!

It’s a little early to talk Christmas, but I have just been in the mood to start my Christmas cards early. It’s never too early because there never seems to be enough time to get them all done.

I created this card watching the season premier of Greys Anatomy last night. Did you watch it? It was very good, but was on way too late. I have to get up very early so I’m dragging today. My sitter had a bad cold yesterday and today my little one has it. No fun!

When I bought this set called “Snow Swirled” from Stampin’ Up! (pg 32, #111690), the delicate look of it made me think “pink”! I alternate the theme of my Christmas tree every year between Victorian and multi-color. I may do the Victorian tree this year which also inspired my card creation last night.

The first thing I did was emboss a Whisper White card with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. Then I stamped and embossed the tree from the Snow Swirled set onto Pretty in Pink cardstock. I layered the embossed tree on Whisper White and then Pretty in Pink behind that. I stamped “Season’s Greetings”, also included in the Snow Swirled set, in Whisper White Craft Ink on the pink cardstock and cut out with my Nestabilities the oval shape. I layered that piece on a slightly larger embossed oval in Whisper White to raise up the saying a little. To finish it off, some shiny pink ribbon!

TGIF – the weekend is almost here. Thank you for stopping by and I appreciate all your comments. Please drop me a line anytime! Have a wonderful day!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Happy Fall!

I know, I know. I'm posting a card about snow and saying happy fall? Yesterday, the first day of fall, I felt like making a Christmas card! I guess fall just puts me in the mood to create because it gets darker out sooner and colder. I'm silly, I know!

Ok, before I tell you about my card creation here I have some exciting news! I received an e-mail yesterday from Splitcoaststampers that I am going to be the Inspiration Challenge host on World Card Making Day (October 4th) on their website!!!! I am very excited about this!!! What an awesome opportunity. So along with all the fun stuff here, you will also need to play along with my challenge at Splitcoaststampers, ok? Promise??? :)

Isn't the snowman cute on this card?! I just love him!The cardstock is Confetti White from Stampin' Up! (page 166, #102028 in the current catalog). I needed extra speckles in between my snowflakes and this paper was perfect for that. The cardstock and ink color I used is Brocade Blue from the Stampin' Up! Rich Regals collection. The snowflakes are just gorgeous and can be found in the SU! set Snow Swirled (pg 32, #11690). I love this set! I will be posting this week or next a really pretty card using the tree in this set. I love the sayings that come with it too. The cute little snowman and "Let it Snow" are from a clear set of stamps from Doodlebug. I added a few touches that are hard to see in this photograph. I added a hint of clear glitter to each snowflake to make them sparkle. I added two Brocade Blue (SU!) brads for buttons on the snowman. To add some extra softness I used Brocade Blue chalk from Stampin' Pastels (pg 163, #105542) to fill in the snowman and a light dusting on the saying.

I hope you are having a wonderful first week of fall and that you are getting geared up for my fun filled World Card Making Day! Someone asked me how many cards you will be able to make in my Christmas Card Kit I am releasing that day, and the answer is 10 cards! You're going to love them!

Thanks for stopping by and God bless!

You light up the place with that smile on your face

Whew! I cannot believe it's Sunday already. Where does the time go?

I made this Halloween card for a good friend of mine who truly "lights up the place". The stamp, cardstock, and patterned paper is all from Stampin' Up! I pulled out my Making Memories Tag Maker to make the stamped image into a tag. I put a pop dot on the tag and secured it to a black scalloped circle. Then I took a silver pen and lightly edged the outline of the card to tie it all together. The patterned paper is simply 4 squares cut into 2.5x2.25 inches. The back ribbon is tied around the card and then I attached an extra knot to each side. There are also two black brads at the top and bottom corner.

Here are a couple announcements to keep in mind:
1)Stampin' Up! Batty for You set will be -20% through the end of September only here at Tiffany's Cardtique.

2) World Card Making Day is October 4th and I have many things to share with you that day! I will be releasing my first card kit for sale and to give you a little teaser, it's a Christmas card kit! Everything you need will be included - stamps, markers, cardstock, patterned paper, etc. I will have color pictures along with instructions to make it easy for you. Whether you're new to stamping or have been doing it for 20 years, this kit will make it easy and fast to produce your own Christmas cards people will marvel over this holiday season.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and took some time to stamp! Thanks for stopping by!

Creepy Crawly, Oh My Golly!

Hello everyone!

TGIF in a big way!!!! I live for the weekend!!! Are you glad it's Friday?

So how do you like my Creepy Crawly card? It may be difficult to see in the photo, but the top black section is that glitter paper from Doodlebug. I love it! Then I took my glue pen and added Doodlbug black glitter to each hanging spider and a dot on each scallop of the Stampin' Up! scallop circle punch. The fence is so awesome. It's from the Martha Stewart collection. Gotta love Martha! The spooky looking black tree is from the new Stampin' Up! Mini Catalog, due out October 1st, and is called "Season of Friendship". I used it in my last post too. The spiders and "Creepy Crawly" is from Michaels clear dollar stamps bin. Aren't they cute? The stamp on the scallop circle is from the Stampin' Up! set "Batty for You" and is my -20% off special this month. Isn't it a cool Halloween card?

If you have any trouble ordering off my Stampin' Up! website, please e-mail me. Some have been experiencing difficulty. I can either give you a call and help walk you through it, or I can place the order for you. This is a new system for SU! so there may be some bumps along the way. Thank you for your patience and visiting my blog today.

More to come this weekend! Take care.
