My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge

Ever participate in a sketch challenge? It's super fun and most challenges give away a prize to one lucky winner.  It's a great way to get some inspiration too.

This week I decided to play along with My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge 225. Wanna play along with me? The sketch is really fun and I hope it did it justice with my creation.

All the supplies I used are from My Favorite Things:

Card Stock: Black Licorice, Sweet Tooth, Bubblegum
Stamps: LJD Hearts & Stitches, DC Happy Everything
Ink: Black Licorice
Dies: Happy Duo
Other: Princess Sequins Kit

I'd love you hear what challenges you may participate in!  Leave me a comment or drop me an e-mail with your favorite. I'll list them out in a future post.

Have a great weekend and happy stamping!

Painted Petals

I jinxed myself after that last post . . . I came down with a terrible cold over the weekend. Perhaps I should send myself that card? Lol.

I am hoping that you are thinking I painted the pretty flowers on front of this card? I'd love to say I did, but I didn't. There is a lovely new stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Painted Petals. It's gorgeous! You can achieve that painted look with each and every stamp in the set. I love it! For the background, I cheated a little and used the coordinating Designer Series Paper called Painted Blooms.  Did you ever buy scrapbook paper that is so pretty you don't want to use it? That is me with this paper. This paper you could frame!  The opened, but unused packet has been sitting on my desk for quite sometime. I just had to break into it.

All the supplies to create this card are from Stampin' Up!  If you don't know or have a demonstrator to order from, no worries!  My sidebar to your right, under Tiffany's Favorites, includes a link to my friend and demonstrator, Lisa Wertz. She would be happy to help you place an order.

Get Well Soon

You can never plan for a Get Well card like you can a birthday card. If you need to throw one together fast . . . try grabbing a border die like the Memory Box Piestra Tile Craft Die, cut out design on white cardstock and layer it on a brightly colored card. Stamp your well wishes and add some sequins or enamel dots and you're done! Simple, clean, and easy.  I love that!

Out on a Limb

My mother is happily retired, but you wouldn't think so with the type of schedule she keeps!  I'm totally jealous. She does manage to help me out from time to time by having us over for dinner and watching her Grandson when we need a sitter. I asked her to make my birthday dinner a few weeks ago and without hesitation she happily agreed to cook my favorite meal. I'm sending her this card just to thank her for all she's done.

Out on a Limb Card Supplies:
MFT Stamps & Dies: Out on a Limb
Stampin Up Cardstock: Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Stampin Up Ink: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Wild Wasabi

When I finished this card, I thought it would make a good teacher card too!  We are anxiously waiting for this school year to come to an end. It's been a rough one! Warm weather, sunshine, and no homework sounds really great right now!

Have a great day and happy stamping!

Happy Birthday Card . . . Made Easy!

Too much to do, so little time!  I often find myself saying that. You too?  I am quick to buy any card making products, particularly dies, that do all the work for me. The Happy Birthday Background die, from Memory Box, can give you a gorgeous handmade birthday card in no time!  I ran it twice through my Big Shot . . . once with the gray card stock and a second time with yellow. I layered the gray piece on a white card, popped in the yellow letters for "Happy Birthday", and added a cute Gerbera Daisy from MFT. Ta da!  Done!

Here is a little peek on the side as to what I put in the inside. Just keeping it simple, but pretty!  It is finally Spring you know!!!!! Whohoo!

Happy Birthday Card Supplies:
Dies: Memory Box Happy Birthday Background, MFT Gerbera Daisy
Stamps: Hero Arts May your Birthday be as Special as you are!
Stampin Up Cardstock: Whisper White, Smoky Slate, So Saffron, Garden Green

Happy Spring and happy stamping!

just a NOTE

At the Office?  Need some Office Supplies? Well then, My Favorite Things will help you get the job done!  I'm sounding like an advertisement, but honestly I am in no way employed by MFT. I would love to be though!

I do work at an office Monday-Friday and thought this set would be perfect for making cards for my co-workers. I just adore the little clipboard you can assemble. I put pop-dots high up on the clip die-cut and then glued the very bottom down to make it dimensional. There are all kinds of sayings included in this set just perfect for the office. I think teachers could make good use of this as well!

Hello Sunshine

Hello my favorite blog readers!

A friend of mine recently had surgery. I've known her for about 20 years. I met her at work and just loved her personality. She is one of those people that tells it like it is.  You never have to wonder what she is thinking, because she'll tell you! When she would come into work and look in a not so good of a mood, I'd smile and say "hello sunshine". Although she didn't show it . . . I think she loved it! She never said anything and sometimes would smile back at me.  Years later . . . like maybe 5 years ago, she told me her Dad use to call her that. I was delighted to hear it was a fond memory for her and not something totally annoying.

Her surgery went well, and she is recovering now. I wanted to send her a card to let her know I was thinking of her. So how perfect is the Lawn Fawn hello sunshine stamp set? PERFECTION all around! And of course, there are coordinating dies. I kept it simple and sponged Tim Holtz Distress Ink for a soft sky background that fades down to the sentiment. It's hard to tell in the picture, but I added a little glossy accents to the heart to shine and raise it off the card a little.
